Lyme disease IgM antibodies

Lyme disease (borreliosis) is a dangerous infectious disease spread by ticks.

Borreliosis (Lyme disease) IgM antibodies, Lyme disease is caused by Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria. Once an infected tick has been sucked in, the pathogen is usually transmitted to humans within 1-3 days. The clinical course of Lyme disease can be divided into three stages, but the transition from the early to the later stages is not always obvious.

Many infected people develop a limited, slowly spreading, migratory reddening of the skin at the site of the injection, which lasts for days, weeks or even months. The patient may feel persistent fatigue, head, joint and muscle pain, and may have a high temperature.

The acute and early stages of Lyme disease are indicated by the presence of IgM antibodies to the infectious agent in the blood – Lyme disease IgM antibodies. This blood test can only be done 2-3 weeks after the infected tick has been injected.

If the test is negative but the general signs of infection persist, it should be repeated a week later. These blood tests can be carried out in the absence of signs of disease at least 2 weeks after inoculation.
